The very first thing you have to call them towards is that there is nothing worthy to be worshipped except allaah (Bukhari, Muslim) Narration of Abdullah ibn abbas raliyallahu anhu. Now the prophet muhammed (H) is telling Muadh ibn Jabal raliyallahu anhu that he is going to meet the people of book. The people of Book also say Allah. But still prophet muhammed(H) is asking Muadhraliyallahu anhu to teach them, “There is none worthy to be worshipped except Allah”. This is the belief in allah. And it starts from teaching the names & attributes, knowing allah & then comes the Uboodiyyah, the Ruboobiyyah and all its parts. Uboodiyyah is singling out Allah with our action towards him (in our obedience). Tawhid Ar Ruboobiyyah is singling out (the oneness of) allah in his actions. And Tawhid asma wa sifaat (Oneness of names and attributes of Allah) is to describe him as he described himself in the quran & as described by his messenger in the Sunnah without Tahreef(Corrupting) , Tamseel(Similarizing), Takyeef(Questioning) and Ta’teel(Negating) and these are the inevitable things in believing Allah. Manhajus salaf has been emphasizing everyone to know allah first. As corruptions entered the field of dawah, people started avoiding taking knowledge from the right source, right ulamas. They missed the track of adopting it, in which it was said that those who took knowledge from the right sources, they will know give it on the right way and those who have missed it will miss that.

This is why we need to identify in the da’ees whether they emphasize on this necessary fundamental of Islaam. This is the reason we have to look from where we are taking the knowledge which can tell us the person's strength in faith and background. If he comes from the background of the salaf he will have the correct faith in Allah and he will have give the necessary importance to it. He will be sticking to it and he'll also know that speaking on the issues of Fiqh and arguing on it is not the main thing. The main thing is to have proper belief in Allah first. Even if we have correct approach to the issues of fiqh and we don’t have correct belief in Allah, our correct approach in fiqh issues won't benefit us. So dear muslims having explained the distortion or misunderstanding that occurred on the subject of Allaah's names and attributes, having a belief that we shouldn’t Teach/learn at all and we should take Allah’s Names and Attributes with no meaning on it was also another extreme in it. May Allah save us from these kinds of Devients.
